Ian Michael James, an Acting major with a minor in Playwriting, is thrilled to close out his career at Columbia with the Senior Showcase. Most recently Ian appeared in the 2014 Fresh Ink Festival performance of The Pageant. Previous Columbia credits include All My Sons (as George) and The National Theatre (as Chub) directed by Erin Shea Brady, The Arsonists (as Biedermann) directed by Jake Fruend, and A Thousand Clowns (as Nick) directed by Zoe Claster. Outside of acting, Ian has had two plays produced at Columbia, as well as serving as dramaturg for their mainstage production of Hairspray, directed by Michael Ryzcek. In 2013, Ian had the great fortune to have his play, Stature of God, selected for production at Columbia’s Fresh Ink Festival and another of his plays, Burn, read at Columbia’s Manifest Performance Festival. Outside of Columbia, Ian appeared in Coriolis Theater’s Night at the Fine Arts Building. TV and film credits include several lead roles in Columbia student film projects.
